“I have searched high and low for a book or website that would help me sort out my situation….the constant need to be challenged, the burning urge to feel fully utilized on the job, the inevitable fleeing when the job disappointment sets in.  I’ve dragged my family all over the world, I’ve gotten high level degrees to ensure I could find my dream job, and yet that nagging feeling of boredom and disappointment perseveres!  I’ve read all the Deepak Chopra, Napolean Hill, personal branding books I can stomach.  I’ve memorized the secrets of highly successful people, I still don’t know what color my parachute is, and if asked I would say someone really has moved my cheese!

This is the first book that speaks directly to me, and not about making the most money as a woman, learning to voice your opinion with confidence, or finding ‘balance’ between work and family.  It’s about understanding who I am, why I act the way I do, and using that knowledge to shape my future.  You understand my personality type, and instead of trying to mold me into a corporate automaton, have helped me see my pitfalls and adapt to the rest of the world.  Finally there is hope for me!

You have no idea how much this book means to me, and it couldn’t have come at a better time (I’m planning a move right now, but now I know the real reasons why!).  Every page I’ve read has made me look over my shoulder. ‘Is she standing right behind me?  Spying on me?’  How you could understand my struggle so well is absolutely beyond me, but I am so grateful that you do. “~ Andrea Atkins

“This book is for all women to help us find greater happiness and satisfaction with the wondrous things we are achieving. The ideas and exercises represent breakthrough thinking. I plan to give this inspiring and thought-changing book to many women as a gift of guidance on their journey.”
–Linda Alepin, Founding Director, The Global Women’s Leadership Network

“There is an entire group – a big one – of extremely accomplished women who are tortured by the endless pursuit of “outstanding.” Wander Woman is the first book I have read that addresses their needs. This is a book for highly successful women AND their executive coaches. Not only will passionate, driven women better manage their minds, the exercises and coaching questions will help them improve their relationships with those they live and work with.”
– Madeleine Blanchard, Founder, Coaching Services, The Ken Blanchard Companies

“Whenever Marcia takes you on a learning journey, self-defeating behavior has nowhere to hide. Fear not. Marcia’s warmth, gentle humor, and practical guidance make self-transformation a totally fun and engaging experience. Her deeply insightful stories of Wander Women–as well as her own transformative journey– will touch the restless wanderer in your own soul, and open new paths to love, joy and contentment.
– Deb Giffen, Director, Wharton Executive Education

“As an entrepreneur and former broadcast executive I have known the excitement of overachieving. I’ve also felt the frustration of comparison, never feeling like I had accomplished quite enough. So here I am – a wander woman – and this restless archetype is screaming to be recognized and acknowledged for her significance in my journey. I knew this book would speak to many of the talented women leaders and entrepreneurs we coach, but I was delighted to find the content was also relevant and just in time for my own transformation at mid-life. Thank you our dear coach colleague for this beautiful expression and pathway to freedom.” -Darelyn DJ Mitsch, Master Coach, Author, President of The Pyramid Resource Group and a Wander Woman.

“This is one of the best books I’ve ever read about women: it really helps to legitimize our journey and turn our restlessness into a strategy. It talks to all women and men who will have to understand and work with women now and in the future.” -Beate Heller, PhD, Group Head Executive Development, Swisscom, Berne

Marcia is a great listener, and asks the right questions to lead me to very solid decisions. When I follow through on her “requests” or as I refer to “my homework”…I really benefit. She has helped me to focus and prioritize. I have been better able to look at “problems” in different ways, thus finding very meaningful solutions. I believe I am a better leader today because of the coaching I received from Marcia.

As to the value for my money? Absolutely! I would recommend Marcia. She is different than I am, and I believe this has been very helpful. In the past, I always chose to surround myself with personalities and view points similar to mine. She makes me look at at things in a new way. This is good. Integrity is what I always look for in a person, and her integrity shines through. Because of the balance she consistently strives to achieve in her own life, I have then adapted her examples to my own personality and lifestyle. It works!

Lynn Berzynski, president
Molly Maids International

I hired Marcia when I relocated to Phoenix. She not only helped me settle into a new position, but her insights, great questions and gentle prodding helped me to avoid some potentially sticky political situations with my peers. As a result, I am able to focus on what I do best. She helped to make my transition seamless.

Linda Ruby, VP Marketing
Henry and Horne

Since beginning my work with Marcia earlier this year, she has been an exemplary professional coach. She exhibits a unique sense of interest in my life and her insights and direction are always on target. I feel very supported and championed in the attainment of my goals. Marcia’s skill set is quite sound in my estimation. She has been a vital resource to me and I look forward to our continuing relationship.

Respectfully,
Joe Mazzenga, President
Whetstone, Inc.

My life would not be the same without Marcia as my coach. She has guided me through a number of job changes with the bank, helping me to stay focused on the advantages instead of the difficulties. The higher I have risen in my organization, the more I find how important it is to have someone to talk to on the outside, for both the perspective and encouragement. I have referred Marcia to many of my colleagues and all have been grateful to me for finding her. She is a real treasure.

Betty Aga, VP Consumer Business
Bank Of America

There have been several areas where I feel Marcia is particularly effective as a coach. First of all, I like her gentle and light way of handling issues that may appear to the client as serious and overwhelming. This lightness creates perspective and allows greater space in which to see what is occurring.

I also have been aware of how Marcia matches her language to her client, so that there is greater clarity in the communication.

Marcia presented opportunities for me to explore. The opportunities were, however, always presented as a choice and not a demand. As a result, I became interested in pursuing new solutions instead of just fixing my problems.

I began working with Marcia at a time when I was very unhappy with my primary employment. Within the span of four months, I made a decision to actively create a new future by redesigning my role within my organization. As a result, I moved out of an area of employment where I had been stuck for 14 years and moved into a new area of where I increased my salary by 20% and I enjoy my work every day. Marcia prepared me for this major employment transition and supported me through the transition.

On top of all this, Marcia helps one learn how to make life and work fun.

Mark Boyer
Manager of Development

I attended a group coaching session you gave with the New York State Senate a few months ago. I wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much I enjoyed the session. I continue to read your handouts just to keep me on the positive side.

Joseph A. DeMarco

After one year of coaching with Marcia, my attitude about myself, my career and my business has shifted 180 degrees. I find myself returning to the same feelings and attitude I had when I started my business, the courage to make and even embrace change and to move forward by making choices that benefit me, not just looking out for everyone else.

I want to emphasize that Marcia does not make decisions for me but instead has helped me develop ways to deal with situations using my own knowledge and self-awareness, and she helped me at least develop a plan or concept for what I want my career to look life for the next 25 years of my life. I have come to regard Marcia as a valued friend as well as business advisor.

James Fritz,
attorney and law firm principal

In January of 1999 I hired Marcia to be my personal coach for a relationship that lasted over two years. I have experienced her as committed to me as a person and to my goals. Her coaching style is versatile moving effectively between process and content. She has been helpful working with me on my presentational skills and also on business development.

Allen Nohre, past president

I have worked with Marcia for the past year and I feel privileged to have her as a coach. As a result of her coaching, I take actions that maximize my results and I spend minimal amounts of time on side issues. In addition, she has helped me improve not only the quality of clients in my practice, but also the quantity of money they provide me as well. I am also blessed with Marcia’s ongoing humor, wisdom, and graciousness which are a wonderful model for anyone at any time.

Margaret A. Krigbaum
